Rooted

Rooted got its start as a stall in Avanti F&B's Boulder food hall. In 2023 it went brick and mortar in Denver's West Highlands, and we were lucky enough to design it.

It was another second-generation restaurant space for us, and the room Rooted inherited was dark and closed off. Our job was to give it a bright, refreshing new skin.

We ran wood slats along the lower walls and kept everything above them a warm white. The banquettes got soft, rounded ends. Overhead, we hung a canopy of greenery with brass dome pendants dropping through it, so the color comes from the ceiling. For its time on 32nd Avenue, Rooted was a real neighborhood spot for West Highlands.
